Stronger Than Us

Roots of Silence

Oil on canvas, 110 × 80 cm

About the artwork

An old tree does not become part of the landscape here — it holds the entire space around it. In its heavy crown, pale trunk, and deeply rooted form, there is a quiet strength that needs no proof. It existed before us and will continue its own passage of time beyond human haste, plans, and ideas of significance. This work is about a presence in nature that needs no explanation: it is enough to pause beside it to feel its scale.

Stronger Than Us

> **Stronger Than Us** is a series about nature as a force that does not need human presence to be significant. > > We are used to measuring the world through ourselves: shaping it, explaining it, trying to control it, and placing ourselves at the center of what happens. Yet a field beneath a heavy sky, an ancient tree, wind, water, or stone can restore a different sense of scale. Nature exists beyond our will, our plans, and our ideas of power. These works are not landscapes in the conventional sense. They are encounters with something larger, older, and profoundly beautiful — a force before which humanity does not disappear, but ceases to be the main character.
